Use of ToonSig.com and its World of Warcraft signature generation service implies consent with the following terms and conditions:
No guarantees or warranties. We make absolutely no warranties or guarantees surrounding this service and is subject to the user's discretion. If our service goes down and you are affected, go outside and do something else for a few hours, days or weeks. It's a free service; if you have the expectation for 24/7 uninterrupted service, make a few sizeable donations and then we'll talk. :) With both of us being dads with "real" jobs, this is a service we provide on the side and on a casual basis. It should be viewed as such by our guests who use the service.
No liability. You agree to waive any and all litigation rights towards ToonSig and its makers; and furthermore waive any liability claims against ToonSig and its makers. We're nice guys, really. So don't be up in our faces with the lawyer dudes. If you've a real problem, lets talk about it like civilized people. Really.
Ownership and trademarks. Some icons, statistics, and signature information belongs to Blizzard; and we thank them for opening up the armory data to us to provide you this service. Most artwork, including signature background images, website photos or images, and content are property of ToonSig and its owners. No unauthorized duplication or distribution is allowed without written permission from ToonSig and its owners.
Disclaimer. You acknowledge that this website and its services are "as-is". If it breaks, we'll try to fix it, but make no warranties of 24/7 service. Again, go outside and get some fresh air now and then...it's good for you. As mentioned in item I., if you make a few sizeable donations, we'll talk more about guarantees then.
Personal information. We do not distribute or sell your personal information, including e-mail address, character name, realm, or guild information. Your secret's safe with us that you have an addiction to the purple text and spend excessive hours leveling, raiding, and talking about Chuck Norris in /trade and /general.
User-inputted data. You agree to enter truthful and accurate information when asked to provide it. Additionally, you agree to enter non-malicious text input when provided with input fields. Though we take every step possible to clean up your input, we just ask that you refrain from being an ass-hat kiddy scripter and use the service as-is. We're watching you. >,>
Keeping things current. All we ask that you keep your signatures updated and current — that means stopping back at our site and updating your signature stats. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DELETE INACTIVE AND OUT-OF-DATE SIGNATURES with the following criteria and preferences in mind:
Generally speaking, we will remove signatures if they:
Have not been updated in our system for more than 90 days,
Are not assigned to a member account (membership is free and you can assign signatures to your account), and
Have not been viewed for more than 90 days (a check for a valid HTTP_REQUEST in our access logs)
If those three criteria are not met, we reserve the right to delete both the signature reference in our database and the image itself. And for the circumstances where duplicate signatures exist in our system, the older signatures with no HTTP_REQUEST activity will automatically be removed.
Additionally, in the future we may check for that character's existence in the armory for that particular realm (a much more costly transaction in terms of bandwidth and a dependency upon Blizzard's armory server). But for now, the three criteria identified will be used to keep our signature inventory up-to-date.
As a general practice, we give
favor to signatures that are assigned to members right from the start and much less to unassigned signatures (orphans). If you periodically refresh your signature in ToonSig, we know that you are actively using and maintaining that signature and it will be safe from deletion. But inactive signature updates can translate to flagging for deletion.
If your signature is removed, you may see an image like this in its stead:
This would be your cue to either create a new signature (and keep it current) or remove the HTML/BBCode reference on your website.
Password-protected content. ToonSig may restrict some content of our site to authorized users only (such as member dashboards). You log in at your own risk and without SSL encryption. Unauthorized individuals attempting to access content requiring authentication may be subject to civil liability and criminal penalties. Again, just don't be a dumbass by attempting to gain access to things you don't have rights to. Really.
If you can abide to these simple terms, then cool, you can stay. If not, go elsewhere please. K THNX.
